Women's Bible Studies
Each Fall and Spring semester, there are opportunities for Bible study, prayer and fellowship from 9:30a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. A nursery is provided. Our Spring Bible studies will begin Wednesday, January 18 and end Wednesday, March 28. This Spring, there are three Bible studies: 1) Mary Baird will lead a study in the Parlor of four minor prophets: Joel, Obadiah, Haggai, and Habakkuk 2) The Prayer Group continues to meet in Room 253, 3) Our third group, led by Betsy Mayse, will begin with a two-week study on the Bema seat, or judgment seat, of Christ, and meets in Room 252. There will be a luncheon on Wednesday, February 22, after the Bible studies. Please bring a sack lunch for your children. All women are welcome even if you are unable to attend Bible study. You are cordially invited to join us to study God's Word in an atmosphere of Christian love and acceptance.
Heart T2 Heart
Women's Life Mentoring Ministry
Heart T2 Heart is a ministry to develop supportive mentoring relationships between the older and younger women in our body where godliness is taught and modeled. Titus 2:3-5 specifically addresses the goal for this type of intentional relationship where spiritually mature women invest themselves in nurturing younger women. A mentor is a woman who loves the Lord and desires to encourage and support another woman in her walk with Christ as she shares from her knowledge of scripture and life experiences. A mentee is a woman who is younger in her relationship with the Lord, and wishes to have another believer encourage her in her growth and development in Christ.
During the Summer each year, applications are available to mentors and mentorees. In September, mentors and mentorees are matched and there is a kick-off luncheon to begin their new partnerships. Each partnership decides on subsequent meeting times based on their schedules. If you are interested in being a mentor or mentored, please contact Bernie Schultz or the CBC Office (972-671-3428) for more information.
"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you have been doing." 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Helps Ministry
The Helps Committee serves the body of Christ as set forth in Romans 12:10-13. "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; ...contributing to the needs o f the saints..."
This ministry of service takes many forms; providing meals in case of illness or death, transportation, babysitting, overnight housing, house cleaning or grocery shopping. The committee tries to cover the needs of people who are not in a Ministry Group, where this type of serving would normally occur.
Single Women's Fellowship
Our single women, young and older, meet for lunch once a month, on the second Sunday of the month (except in the months of May and December). Our purpose is to minister to one another and encourage us to better serve God in our families and in the body of Christ.
Grandma's Attic
Good stewardship is a biblical principle and "recycling" our clothes is one way of putting that principle into practice. Grandma's Attic is a clothes closet for our good used clothing, both children and adult. It serves both those in our neighborhood and our own body with good, clean, repaired clothing.
Women's Ministry Newsletter
The Women's Ministries Monthly has been a great addition to our ministry to keep women better informed about various activities and ministry opportunities in a more timely fashion. Newsletters are emailed nine times a year for the months of September through May.
Spring Retreat
Each Spring the Women's Retreat provides an excellent opportunity for women to get to know each other better and to be refreshed in the Lord. Plan to join us March 22-24 at Lake Lavon Retreat Center with our speaker Marsha Benson of Grace Bible Church (Sherman, Texas). "Yes, (sister), let me benefit from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in Christ" (Philemon 1:20).
