Other Counseling
The Scriptures make it clear that each member of the church is to minister to those in need of admonition, encouragement, or help (Matt. 18:15-20; Rom. 12:9-15; 1 Corin. 12:4-30; Gal. 6:1, 10; 1 Thess. 5:14; Heb. 13:16; James 1:27). If personal and private attempts to help have not solved the problem, Ministry Groups should be the next source of help. Ministry Group leaders (yours or the group to which the hurting individual belongs) should be consulted. If the problem is beyond the resources of the Ministry Group, the Ministry Group leader(s) should contact their assigned elder. If the person in need is not a member of a Ministry Group, the Office or an elder may be contacted.

Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord (James 5:13-14).
The elders of CBC would like everyone in the body to be aware that they are available for visitation. Appointments can be made directly with them or through the CBC Office (972-671-3428). They are generally available evenings, weekends, and during fellowship time. The names of the elders and their phone numbers are shown on the back of your Sunday bulletin.
