For Our Visitors

Welcome! It is our desire that the Sunday meeting of the church at Community Bible Chapel reflect as closely as possible the Biblical pattern of the New Testament church as outlined in Acts 2:42 where the believers “were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.”
We worship and celebrate the Lord’s Supper, or breaking of bread, every Sunday morning by remembering Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection and all that His finished work on the cross has accomplished. We begin with congregational singing. Afterword, one of our men gives a short welcome and introduction to help focus us on worship. Throughout the next hour, various men lead the congregation in worship. They will share from the Scriptures, suggest a song we can sing together, or lead in prayer. Except for the opener, these men are not selected ahead of time but lead publicly as they believe God prompts them. There may be pauses and periods of silence. Use these times for quiet meditation, reflection and personal worship.
At some point we will be invited to give thanks for the bread, which is then broken and passed around. It is our custom to hold the bread and partake together as a body in a demonstration of our unity in Christ. Soon thereafter the cup will be passed in like manner. If you trust in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross alone for the forgiveness of sins, we invite you to celebrate the Lord’s Supper with us. Following the cup, the offering plates will be passed. After the offering there is a time of prayer led by our men who bring praise and petitions before the Lord. This portion of our meeting is closed by introducing visitors and guests.
Following the Lord’s Supper meeting is a short fellowship break where adults can gather in the Parlor for refreshments, while K-12 grades go directly to their Sunday school classes.
The last segment of our morning is the Congregational Teaching hour which begins at 11:15. Adults will re-gather in the Auditorium while K-12 graders will meet in their Sunday school classes. Occasionally, 6-12 graders will join the Congregational Teaching hour; please check today’s bulletin under Youth Doings section for details. Additionally, the Youth Group meets Tuesday evenings for fellowship, games, Bible study, and other activities. Contact the office for meeting locations and time.
