The Women’s Ministries Team’s goal is to encourage ministry among the women at CBC. For more information, please see Women’s Ministries Team below.

Women’s Bible Studies

Each fall and spring semester, there are opportunities for Bible study, prayer and fellowship. There are currently no evening Bible studies.

Wednesday Mornings

  • The parlor group lead by Mary B. is studying the 7 churches in Revelations.
  • The upstairs (room 250) group led by Becky M. is studying the book of Luke.
  • Babysitting is available — please contact Emily J. if you are planning to bring your children or are interested in being a babysitter.

Helps Ministries

Widows & Older Single Women

There are many ways to minister such as cards, calls, visits, and errands. Feel a little timid about visiting? Consider starting by pairing up with another woman who can help you get acquainted with some of the women from our church body who can’t get out anymore.

Grandma’s Attic

Good stewardship is a biblical principle and “recycling” our clothes is one way of putting that principle into practice.   Grandma’s Attic is a clothing ministry for the benefit of the CBC family and others in need. Located in the balcony on the east side, it is open to the CBC family whenever the church is open. Please no food, drinks, or unsupervised children. Those who are not a part of our CBC family may be escorted to Grandma’s Attic by a member who knows them. We request that others be helped by a member of the Benevolence Committee.  Please donate only seasonally appropriate items that are clean and in excellent condition. Contact: Dee H.

Grandma’s Pantry

Grandma’s Pantry provides an emergency, short-term source of food to CBC members and other persons in the community. It is located in a closet on the first floor across from the Auditorium’s west side. CBCers have direct access to this food supply on Sunday mornings, Wednesdays, or other times the building is open for services and activities, or during Office hours. We request that others be helped by a member of the Benevolence Committee. Contact: Sandy W.

Grandma’s Freezer

Grandma’s Freezer, helping meet the short-term needs of CBCers and the community, is now available for storing meat, frozen vegetables, frozen dinners, etc. The good news: we have a new freezer!  The bad news: it’s empty!! To donate, simply leave your frozen item in the freezer, located in the main Kitchen near the back door. CBCers with a need may take food from the freezer. We request that others be helped by a member of the Benevolence Committee. Contact Sandy W.

WMT Questions/Answers

Q: Do women need to go through the Women’s Ministries Team to bring something to the attention of the elders?
A: No. The elders look to the Women’s Ministries Team as a central resource for information about women’s ministries and to help reach out to the women of CBC, but the team is not between the elders and the women of CBC. If the concern is specific to a women’s ministry, then it is probably best to start with the team, but women should always feel free to reach out directly to the elders.

Q: I’d like to have a bible study with some women at CBC. Do I need to get approval or coordinate this with the Women’s Ministries Team?
A: No. We expect that women are meeting with each other and ministering to one another without the approval or even knowledge of the Women’s Ministries Team as a part of fulfilling their roles as followers of Christ. If you would just like for us to be aware of a ministry or if you would like to reach out to the general body of women at CBC, then please do reach out to the team.

Q: Is the team responsible for implementing the women’s ministries?
A: No. There are women on the team who have taken on the primary leadership role in various ministries, but this is separate from their role in the team.

Q: What if nobody volunteers to lead a ministry?
A: The team will reach out to the women of CBC to find a volunteer, but if the ministry is biblically non-essential, then the ministry will be dropped for the time being and potentially reevaluated in the future.

Q: I feel that I have something to offer but don’t know how to get involved. What should I do?
A: Please let us know! Almost all of the women’s ministries need “many hands to make light work.” We would love to help get you connected and involved.
